Jesus is Risen..Go tell

What wonderful news to be entrusted with…

“Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’ ” Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that He had spoken these things to her.”

I can only imagine the emotions Mary Magdalene felt on that morning from the depths of despair, confusion and grief…where is Jesus. Desperately wanting to know where Jesus’ body is to then an overwhelming sense of incredible realisation that Jesus has just spoken her name..Jesus is standing right in front of her. Jesus is alive..

Jesus speaks her name with such love.

He then commissions her to Go..Go share the good news, tell the others.

Jesus is alive.

What a beautiful moment for Mary, what a privilege and honour.

The first to witness the resurrection of her Lord.

The first to be appointed to go and share the good news of Jesus’ resurrection.

Mary was faithful to her commission,

She faithfully went and told and shared the message Jesus gave her.

It was so inclusive to all.. Jesus says I am going to My Father and your Father. My God and your God.

Mission accomplished.

Jesus has reunited man and God through His death and resurrection.

Sin and death have been defeated.

United now with God.

God is now my God, God is now my Father.

Is He yours dear reader?

Just as Jesus says Mary’s name so tenderly and with such love so Jesus calls each individually by name today.

Jesus is calling you by name today.

Jesus is calling you into relationship with God as your Father and your God.

May you too accept that invitation today.
