I believe in the power of prayer and the faithfulness of God who hears and answers our requests. I have experienced God’s healing power in my life, my family and also when praying for others. I have received God’s provision, experienced His favour, received His direction for my life and His wisdom for situations. The answers to our prayers may be Yes, No or Not yet but prayer gives us the opportunity to seek God, ask for His Help and for Him to reveal His Will and direction for our lives. We acknowledge Him, His Power, His Provision and His Protection.
We ask and expect to receive because our God is a good, good God who enjoys giving good gifts to His Children.
Philippians 4:6-7- “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
As Christians and members of His body, the Ecclesia, we can support each other in prayer and join our prayers together.
We can also intercede and stand in the gap for those who do not have a relationship with God through His son, Jesus Christ.
Jesus himself, as our great High Priest, makes intercession for us before the throne of God.
Hebrews 4:14-16 “Therefore since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathise with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are-yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”
Sometimes, we do not know how to pray but we can be comforted and encouraged that the Holy Spirit helps us:
Romans 8:26-27 “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God”
