Expect the unexpected..

Our weekend away was a blessed time of fellowship and friendship.

Our speaker brought us some good insight and challenges as we explore the future shape of our church, encouraging us to ask questions and to consider the cost of whatever we do.

We were reminded of our mission..to go and make disciples of Jesus.

We want to show Jesus to others..may they see Jesus’ glory revealed in us individually and corporately.

As our speaker reminded us. The church was birthed in power on the day of Pentecost. The same Spirit that raised Christ Jesus from the dead lives in us.

We are not weak and ineffectual but a powerful tool in the hand of God.

We are a tool in the hand of the Holy Spirit to bring in the harvest which Jesus told us is plentiful.

What type of tool, what shape tool do we need to be to reach our harvest field.

I came away with a renewed desire and urgency for others to know the Truth and discover Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.

A fresh urgency to press into God for our fellowship to know how and where and when God is leading us in this new season.

We know the season has changed.

We were encouraged to pray more…every move and change for us must be birthed in prayer. God’s Will and our will becoming one.

We were called to pray for protection over our family and leaders. The enemy will be looking to devour, rob us and bring in disunity, deception and false accusations.

This brings me to the unexpected part of the weekend.

I have been suffering with terrible neck and back pain for a few weeks now. It came on suddenly one day and I put it down to my workload and pressure at work. I had been to have a sports massage to help with the pain which I thought was tension related.

I mentioned a separate situation that I was struggling with and requested prayer. I didn’t mention the pain I was in or ask them to pray for healing but in that time of prayer, a word of knowledge was given that someone had put a heavy negative yoke on me that was not mine to bear. They broke the curse of negative words off me in the name of Jesus and I felt a sense of relief and lightness immediately.

Some moments later I noticed that the pain in my neck and shoulders was gone. Praise God. The Lord had revealed that the cause of my pain and suffering was a spiritual attack and not physical illness. The physical symptoms of the attack were lifted immediately when the enemy was rebuked in the name of Jesus. I am still pain free.

I was reminded how important it is to lift everything in prayer to the Lord who knows all things and brings wisdom and revelation by His Holy Spirit and exposes the enemy’s schemes against us.

I was reminded that we are in a spiritual battle and not to just accept or make assumptions when things happen but to seek the One who knows all things and will reveal them in His time and for His glory.

There is power in the name of Jesus.

There is power in the blood of Jesus.

There is power in prayer.

Be blessed today my dear friends.

Seek the Lord in all things whether little, big and in between. God is interested in every detail.

Remember we are in a battle but we have been fully equipped with our spiritual armour, the sword of the Spirit and strengthened in the Lord to enable us to stand firm in our faith. We are more than conquerors through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen 🙏
