Paid in Full….Debt settled

This time next week, I will be on holiday in the Yorkshire Dales which is one of the most beautiful parts of the U.K. I’m really looking forward to the trip.

The last time I was preparing to go away on holiday, I shared this post about a thought that came to me whilst ironing clothes for a different trip.

I’m always amazed how often we are reminded of Jesus’ good news in everyday things even the ironing.

So, I hope you enjoy this re-post today…for me the good news is news that never grows old and I never tire of hearing it. If you are new to this blog and have never heard the good news before then please read on..

This morning, I was ironing a shirt for my husband before going away on holiday. Its a new shirt and I was fascinated by the label, “Paid in Full”.

For a believer in Christ, those words immediately remind me of Jesus’ sacrifice for us and the redemptive power of His blood shed to wash me clean.

Ours sins, all the wrath and judgement of God was laid on Jesus and He has redeemed us and paid the debt in full.

Paid in Full….for all have sinned but Jesus has paid the price. Jesus has taken our punishment on Himself. Thank you Jesus. What a comfort to know that we are redeemed.

It is hard for us to understand that there is forgiveness in full for all sins and wickedness but Jesus paid the price in full.

That’s the incomparable riches of God’s grace and mercy and it is available to all.

It’s more than sufficient to redeem us from sin and death and the devil knows it. How the devil must hate this truth.

We are redeemed and justified by Jesus.

There was a long list of my wrongdoing but it’s been erased..

having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross”. Col 2:14

He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins”. Col 1:13.14

I have confidence that one day when I stand before God and He opens His book that alongside my name….it will say that all my sin, all my wrong doing that would lead to punishment and death have been Paid in full by Jesus. My name is now written in the book of life..is your name there too?

“Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.” Rev.20.11-15 NIVUK
