It is so good and necessary to remind ourselves of the message of the Cross and what Jesus has done for us. We are so blessed.
As we go into the new month of October let us encourage each other to not lose sight of the power of the Cross and what Jesus has done for each of us.
When Paul writes to the Corinthian Church, his letter references them constantly back to the Cross and what Christ Jesus has done. Paul’s writings are Christ centred, never losing sight of the power of the message of the Cross. It is a message that has not and never will lose its power to transform our lives.
Paul mentions Jesus 10 times in the opening verses alone reminding the Corinthian church that:
1. They have been sanctified from sin through their faith in Jesus Christ;
2. They are now the Saints of God;
3. They now are able to call on the name of Jesus;
4. They have received God’s grace through Christ;
5. They have received God’s peace through Christ;
6. They have been enriched with knowledge and understanding through the Holy Spirit;
7. They have received and exercise all of the gifts of the Holy Spirit falling short in nothing;
8. They are now blameless in God’s sight;
9. Jesus will faithfully keep them from the day of judgement; and
10. They now have fellowship with God through faith in Jesus.
Praise God. My cup is well and truly overflowing with the grace, love, peace and blessings of God which I have been given through faith in Jesus.
Have a blessed week my friends.
“To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who in every place call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, so that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you were enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge, even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” 1 Cor 1 2-9
