Seasons of trials…

Many of my dear friends are going through times of trial and difficulty at the moment. You may also know of people in such situations or be experiencing these times yourself.

When these seasons are long, I can start to struggle to know what to pray. I often feel I’ve exhausted every request before God. I then start to pray more from my flesh/head knowledge and what I think needs to be done rather than humbly submitting the situation to God and praying as led by the Spirit of God.

I can also start to forget to pray faithfully about these situations as new prayer needs arise.

I am reminded today how it’s so important to uphold people at these times in prayer before God. Prayer makes a difference.

If I struggle to pray about a difficult situation looking from the outside in, then how much more might the person who is in that situation find it to pray.

This morning, I read these verses from 1 Peter 5 10-11 and it encouraged me to pray these verses for a particular friend who is going through a difficult time and has been for many years now.

But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Is there someone God is also gently reminding you and bringing to mind today to pray for too?

I find that I feel the same way too Nicola. It is so important to continue praying, I find that praying together helps a lot and being in regular contact with the person brings back afresh their need and automatically refreshes my urgency to pray for them.
