Prayer Walking

I don’t know whether you have ever been on a prayer walk or if not, have ever thought about doing one. If you haven’t and it’s new to you then I would encourage you to give it a go. I have found them a great opportunity to get out and about and see my local community where I live and work with fresh eyes. It’s an opportunity to ask God to show us what He sees so that our prayers can help to bring about transformation and change as He wants – His Kingdom to come.

It’s always amazing the things God shows us when we start to look with His eyes – I often have things drawn to my attention which I have never noticed before – I may have walked past them many times without even noticing them but then God draws my attention to them and I really see. Whilst, I may overlook things God never does – His eyes are even on the sparrow.

You can do a prayer walk on your own, in pairs or as part of a larger group. In my experience it is good to go in pairs because you can pray in agreement and also “bounce” things off each other as the Holy Spirit brings inspiration. However, I often prayer walk on my own and really enjoy it. Now that the lock down restrictions are easing at home, we will soon be able to go out and pray in groups again so perhaps, you might join a prayer walk around your local community or even start one. Spring is here – the season of new beginnings so perhaps this could be a new thing for you or you could be inspired to give it a go.

It’s not as daunting or difficult as it might sound and it’s not just for those we may consider the “prayer warriors” or the “super spiritual people” – it’s for us – the ordinary followers of Jesus, the everyday folk, that He enables by His power to do extraordinary things through Him. Most of us probably already go out regularly for walks and with a prayer walk you are just being purposeful. Before you set out simply ask God to show you things that He wants you to see and pray into them.

One way to help get you started, if you are a bit unsure of what to pray initially, is to simply ask God for His blessing and favour on your community. e.g if your walk takes you past your local school you can take a moment to ask God to bless the school, the children and the teachers. Thank God for the school and for the gift of education. If you already know of particular needs in that school or specific issues then you can bring them to God and ask for his help.

What changes would you like to see in your local community?- How would you like to shape it for God. Jesus went out and about doing good and one of the ways that we can do good is to pray. When we go out we take God’s presence with us. We can be instruments to bring about change for good.

I am convinced that God will use you in amazing ways in your prayer walks. I have always been encouraged when I experience and see God at work during these times. The Lord has been reminding me this week about prayer walks and prayer drives I have been on in the past. It’s good to testify about these things and so in due course, I will add a page to my site with some testimonies of the things we have seen and experienced on our walks.

I just want to finish by encouraging you with this quick story. On one of the first prayer walks that I went on with a friend, I asked the Lord before we went if there was someone he wanted us to meet. If so, could he put them in our path. As we were walking around our community and praying, we met two police officers. They stopped us and asked us what we were doing. We clearly looked like suspicious characters 🤣. We explained and they were amazed that we cared enough about the local estate that we were out walking and praying. We asked if there was anything that we could pray about and they told us about some general issues on that particular estate with drugs, robberies, violence etc.

We then asked if we could thank God and pray for them. They agreed and we just said a very quick simple prayer. We just thanked God for them and blessed them. They were genuinely surprised that we were thanking God for them and the work they did. They were more used to people avoiding them and at times hostility and abuse. I believe God will take those little acts and seeds of faith and do something incredible.

Don’t worry if you don’t feel that you could pray for someone you meet on the street. Don’t let that put you off or get you anxious. You don’t have to do that as part of prayer walking. Most of the time no-one will realise that you are even praying as you walk. You may even surprise yourself one day as God gives you a new boldness and takes you along new paths of His presence.

I hope you are encouraged today to step out on your local streets and into your local parks and pray as the Lord leads you x bless you in Jesus name.

A day of trouble

This post follows on from the post which I did recently called the Time of Separation.

The Lord has been speaking to me about a Day of trouble which draws near. A trouble such that the world has not yet known. God’s Prophets have foretold of a day referred to as the Day of the Lord. The great and terrible Day of the Lord. The Prophets have pointed us towards this day. Jesus, God’s Son also spoke of this day.

I believe the Lord wants us to have a greater understanding and wisdom about the Day of the Lord and to pray about this day especially for those who do not believe or have any understanding of this day which will come. There are people who have never heard about this day. It’s to warn them as it will be a day of great trouble for those who do not know Jesus as Lord. I pray that those who don’t yet know God will be brought into His Kingdom and become His Children through faith in Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the World. That people will cry out to God for His mercy and to save them. May their hearts be softened and ready to receive the truth about Jesus.

“I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved; for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be deliverance, as the Lord has said, even among the survivors whom the Lord calls.”
Joel 2:30-32

As believers, we can be comforted and strengthened as we have nothing to fear. Jesus has already delivered us from darkness and translated us into the Kingdom of God’s grace and truth. He is with us through everything. All honour and blessings now belongs to Jesus to give to us as He chooses. Jesus is faithful and true.

Jesus will rule the nations one day with a rod of iron and many at that time will not like it. The lovers of self who will not want to humble themselves and come under His rod of authority. Jesus will not tolerate wickedness, injustice, spiritual adultery, falseness, hypocrisy or anything which is unholy or impure. He will rule with justice but not all will want such justice because it will stop their wicked deeds.

The poor and oppressed will rejoice because their salvation has drawn near and is at hand. All those of a pure heart and clean hands will approach His throne in boldness and with nothing to fear. Their conscience is pure and they will rejoice over the Day of the Lord. It comes as a thief in the night when no-one expects it. I hear the Lord say -Oh foolish man, you see the stars in the sky and you cannot interpret the signs you see. I will open up your eyes and shine a light for true revelation.

Blessed be the name of the Lord Most High forever and ever. Amen. Glory, glory, glory for the King of Kings. A banner will be lifted up above all the nations of the earth. The Lion of Judah has roared. He is the roaring lion. Hear Him roar. Amen.

Blow the trumpet in Zion; sound the alarm on my holy hill. Let all who live in the land tremble, for the day of the Lord is coming. It is close at hand — a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness. Like dawn spreading across the mountains a large and mighty army comes, such as never was in ancient times nor ever will be in ages to come.”
Joel 2:1-2

The day of the Lord is near for all nations. As you have done, it will be done to you; your deeds will return upon your own head.”
Obadiah 1:15

“Woe to you who long for the day of the Lord! Why do you long for the day of the Lord ? That day will be darkness, not light. It will be as though a man fled from a lion only to meet a bear, as though he entered his house and rested his hand on the wall only to have a snake bite him. Will not the day of the Lord be darkness, not light— pitch-dark, without a ray of brightness?”
Amos 5:18-20

“The great day of the Lord is near — near and coming quickly. The cry on the day of the Lord is bitter; the Mighty Warrior shouts his battle cry. That day will be a day of wrath— a day of distress and anguish, a day of trouble and ruin, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness — a day of trumpet and battle cry against the fortified cities and against the corner towers.”
Zephaniah 1:14-16

“Then the Lord will go out and fight against those nations, as he fights on a day of battle. On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south. You will flee by my mountain valley, for it will extend to Azel. You will flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the Lord my God will come, and all the holy ones with him. On that day there will be neither sunlight nor cold, frosty darkness. It will be a unique day—a day known only to the Lord —with no distinction between day and night. When evening comes, there will be light. On that day living water will flow out from Jerusalem, half of it east to the Dead Sea and half of it west to the Mediterranean Sea, in summer and in winter. The Lord will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one Lord, and his name the only name.”
Zechariah 14:3-9

“Surely the day is coming; it will burn like a furnace. All the arrogant and every evildoer will be stubble, and the day that is coming will set them on fire, ” says the Lord Almighty. “Not a root or a branch will be left to them. But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves. Then you will trample on the wicked; they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day when I act,” says the Lord Almighty. “Remember the law of my servant Moses, the decrees and laws I gave him at Horeb for all Israel. “See, I will send the prophet Elijah to you before that great and dreadful day of the Lord comes. He will turn the hearts of the parents to their children, and the hearts of the children to their parents; or else I will come and strike the land with total destruction.”
Malachi 4:1-6

Jesus said 24 “But in those days, following that distress, “‘the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; 25 the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’ 26 “At that time people will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. 27 And he will send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens. 28 “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 29 Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that it is near, right at the door. 30 Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. 31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. 32 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 33 Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come. 34 It’s like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with their assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch. 35 “Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back—whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn. 36 If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping. 37 What I say to you, I say to everyone: ‘Watch!’”
Mark 13:24-37

“Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters, not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us—whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter —asserting that the day of the Lord has already come. Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.”
2 Thessalonians 2:1-4

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.
2 Peter 3:10

The Lion of Judah roars over the nations

The alarm goes again…

In late October I shared about my heavenly awakening in the night by the sound of a loud alarm clock.

I was awoken again this morning at 4.00 a.m by the same sound.

I believe the Lord is calling His people to pray in these days and to call out to Him with an urgency.

God wants to give us His heavenly perspective on what is happening and reveal the enemies strategies in this hour so that we can pray with wisdom and understanding as the Holy Spirit leads us.

We have been warned many times about deception in these days. The enemy has a great strategy of deception at work. His lies must be exposed.

We are living in unprecedented times but God has called us ..that’s you and me ….and appointed us for these days. We are the Esthers, the Daniels, the Josephs for these days.

We may feel weak and insignificant but in God we are mighty and powerful. When we humble ourselves before God and call on our Heavenly Father then we become more than conquerors in His name.

All of heaven is cheering us on and encouraging us not to give up but to remain faithful to Him that has called us.

All nations have been impacted by COVID 19. The scale of international debt is incredible and that will come with a heavy price to pay. There are economies of the world which have been decimated by this disease and the full impact is yet to be felt. The UK as a nation is now in so much debt.

America, Britain and Europe are all in the midst of turmoil with the presidential election and Brexit happening. We need Gods’ help in these days. Who is there to turn to except Him for He alone has the words of eternal life.

In October the Lord said that many are confused about what is happening. We have seen this following the U.S. election result but God is still sovereign. His word does not return void but accomplishes what it was sent forth to do. Gods word is powerful.

There is fertile ground for deception and much deception, lies and false news is being spread. Many are searching for truth and the Lord says if you Seek Him you will Find Him as He is the Truth, the Way and the Life.

Let us pray and encourage each other to pray. Blessings to you this day in Jesus precious name.

Mercy, righteousness and justice in the nations

This morning the Lord spoke these words to me –

“I am looking – I am looking down from heaven over the earth and I am looking for a people who will execute judgement and righteousness in their lands.   People who will stand in the gap for their nations and who will cry out with a voice to heaven for mercy on those who are wicked and who are doing wicked things.

Let the voice of those who are righteous cry out at this time.  Let there be a cry that goes up from the day to the night before the throne of heaven.  Let there be mourning and crying for the wickedness of the earth is great.   The poor are oppressed, the strangers are treated harshly, the needy are exploited, there is no justice for the righteous, the innocent are killed and slaughtered all day long.

Who will stand up and cry out for those?   Who will take their side?   Who will rise up for justice and righteousness in their lands?  The pillars of justice and righteousness are to be re-established in the nations.  Woe to those nations who oppress the poor and needy.  Woe to those nations who mistreat the vulnerable & do not offer shelter to the foreigner and those who have no homes.  Woe to the selfish & the proud.

This is the time to offer mercy and to help those in need.  If you turn your back on those in need then why should my Father in heaven pour out blessings upon you.   The treasures of heaven are stored up for such a time as this.   Do not ask with a selfish heart for yourselves for there is more than enough for all.   Did anyone in My house ever beg for bread.   I am the bread of life and there is an abundance in My hand.

Search your hearts.    When did you help those in need or are you just concerned for your own needs?  Are you just interested in your own kingdoms and to build your own kingdom or are you looking to build My kingdom.

Lo – you need to wake up and listen to Me.   The shout has gone out from My throne – Wake up you sleepers and rise from the dead and I will give you light.   Now is the day – Take hold of today for you do not know what tomorrow will bring.    Amen.

Beware of a false peace

God reminded me today of this picture and word he gave me many months ago and so I am reposting it today. The current Covid 19 situation came to mind. Is this a warning from God not to think all is over or getting better but to remain vigilant and keep our eyes on Him. Are we in a time of a false peace and need to prepare for the rest of the storm to pass over.

Perfect peace is found in God and not in our circumstances or situation which is changeable.  Today as I was worshipping God,  I saw a picture of a big storm, a hurricane.  As the hurricane passed over there was “peace” at the eye of the storm.  However,  people know from experience that this peace is a “false peace” because the rest of the storm is still to pass over.   In whatever our circumstances, we could be deceived into thinking a temporary lull is the answer to our prayers and relax.   We may not then be prepared for the rest of the storm.   I sense God is warning us not to be deceived by a false peace but to remain watchful and seek Him.  To fix our eyes on Him.  To continue to pray and intercede as the Holy Spirit leads us.  Seek Him in all situations for Godly wisdom and discernment so that we continue to press in and do not relax our prayers.   Keep pressing in.
