Your resting place…a safe harbour

This morning in church the Lord impressed upon me that we find true peace in His presence. Jesus is our peace and He is our resting place.

Some of us may need to find and return to our resting place again. It is a place in His presence of comfort, refreshing, sustenance, peace and security.

If you are finding that life at the moment is stressful, chaotic, worrying, overwhelming and difficult then come and find your resting place in God’s presence. Your resting place in His Word.

Jesus is in our boats with us and He will take us to safe harbour. As Jesus spoke peace to the storm so He still speaks to the storm today and says “Peace be still”.

Boats come in all different shapes and sizes and they have different cargos (as are the trials and difficulties of life) but there is a dock that is reserved just for you. Jesus is your resting place. Jesus is your safe harbour.

Don’t hesitate to come into and find your resting place in Him today. May you find His peace and comforting presence in the midst of your storm.

And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse,Who shall stand as a banner to the people; For the Gentiles shall seek Him,And His resting place shall be glorious.” Isa.11.10 NKJV

As you probably remember Nicola, I love nautical illustrations in the Christian walk…thus this post really touched my heart sister, thank you!
It reminded me of one of my favourite scriptures:
Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,
And He brought them out of their distresses.
He caused the storm to be still,
So that the waves of the sea were hushed.
Then they were glad because they were quiet,
So He guided them to their desired haven.
    — Psalm 107:28-30

This is such a relevant post, at this juncture of my life, Nicola. Also, it fits hand-in-glove with your earlier piece about lowering the overflow valve. Finally, I read another scripture which goes perfectly with your thought:

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High, will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalm 91:1

Blessings to you and yours, sister!
