There will come a day when each one of us will give an answer to that question.
When Jesus walked this earth, the people around him who listened to his teachings, witnessed his miracles, experienced his healing touch, those who followed him eagerly, his family, friends and even those who opposed him, rejected him, who thought he was the son of the devil- they all had an opinion on who Jesus was.
Jesus himself even asked his disciples that question.
“When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?” So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Matt.16.15 -16 NKJV
C S Lewis said “You must make your choice: either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon; or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to”
I personally made the decision in the summer of 1976 to believe that Jesus is God’s anointed one, God’s son who came in the flesh and who by his death and resurrection redeemed me and cleansed me from my sins and God’s judgment and brought me back into relationship with God as my Father and has given me new life, the promise of eternity with God and now lives in me by His Holy Spirit.
I can now boldly say with confidence that I know Jesus. He is my Lord and Saviour. I am a child of God.
Dear reader, who is Jesus to you today?
Jesus asks the same question of you “But who do you say that I am”.
I pray that you will not ignore that question, or delay the answer another day, but will sincerely be open and eager to discover the truth about who Jesus is so that you too will have confidence and the revelation, just as Peter did, to declare:
“You are the Christ, the Son of the living God”

A timely reminder, Nicola. We must all ultimately answer to Jesus. I came to know him in the winter of 1977, when I was nine years old. Later, at fifteen, I felt him calling me to a deeper walk with God. His richest blessings to you!

I’m feeling all young here………I was born in 1977 😁
It was 1984 when I chose to follow Jesus, on a hard, slightly curved pew, in a Baptist Church

Excellent searching post Nicola. It reminded me of an important book in my life when I was a young believer: “More Than A Carpenter ” by Josh McDowell. His premise was based on the quote you use by C.S. Lewis; that Jesus was either a Liar, a Lunatic, or Lord…no other choice is offered.

I haven’t heard of that book before Alan. Sounds a good one.

If it is still available I would say it is an excellent book to give to people who either don’t believe or are young in the faith.
