This is what the Lord says to me with his strong hand upon me, warning me not to follow the way of this people: ‘Do not call conspiracy everything this people calls a conspiracy; do not fear what they fear, and do not dread it. The Lord Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy, he is the one you are to fear, he is the one you are to dread. Isaiah 8:11-13
Bind up this testimony of warning and seal up God’s instruction among my disciples. I will wait for the Lord, who is hiding his face from the descendants of Jacob. I will put my trust in him. Isaiah 8:16-17
My friends keep your eyes fixed on the Lord Jesus in this season and be led by the Holy Spirit. Wait on God and His instructions. There are people who are whipping up fear and leading many astray. Causing them to follow the ways of greed and selfishness and exploiting the weak and not regarding the poor. People’s fear is leading them to behave in terrible ways. We only have to witness the recent violence stirred up by the fuel crises in this country. We are not called to follow ungodly ways but the ways of righteousness and truth. We are followers of Jesus.
Let us not forget that the Lord God Almighty is on the throne. He knows the truth and will expose the lies and strategies of the enemy. Stand firm in your faith, and do not be led astray but put on the armour of light, submit to God, resist the enemy and do not fall into Satan’s traps.
We have a righteous advocate in Jesus our Lord and King who rules and reigns: May His Kingdom come and may His Will be done today in our lives.
“He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears; but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked.Righteousness will be his belt and faithfulness the sash round his waist.” Isaiah 11:3-5
The Lord has overcome and by His power in us, His grace and His mercy we will not give in to evil or evil days but will overcome. Let us encourage each other to persevere in faith and be beacons of His light, grace, love, power and mercy in these times.
Morning all, today’s post is different to my recent posts with a return to sharing a word which the Lord has spoken to me recently. I am sharing what I believe the Lord spoke to my heart but as with any word please weigh and test it.
Last Saturday 17th July in a time of prayer, the Lord Jesus spoke to me again about preparation [for earlier posts on preparation please see Prepare, (Re-)Position, Let Go , Being prepared & persevere, Be ready for the “Suddenlies” and impressed upon me that His bride, the body of Christ has been in a season of preparation. The Holy Spirit has been speaking this word about preparation for some years. Those who have heard what the Spirit has been saying have responded, sought the Lord and started to prepare. However, many have not heard what the Spirit is saying or have heard but their hearts have not received the word.
I believe the Lord is encouraging those who have been preparing and also encouraging those who have not to act now. I heard the Spirit saying that this time of preparation is drawing to a close and a day of action/change is just around the corner. Believers need to be ready to respond in this new season – fit and prepared.
For some in this season there will be new difficulties to overcome, new obstacles put in our paths, new persecutions to be endured, new challenges but there will also be new opportunities to advance God’s Kingdom.
I wrote the following as I received it from the Lord- The day draws near – Purify your hearts and raise up holy hands for it is time to cry out to the Lord until He hears your prayers and answers. Those who bend the knee before My throne and not before man are the ones who will be heard before my Father in heaven. Seek Me in all things for I alone can guide and lead you in the times and days ahead. Great upheaval is coming even worse than the Covid that has ravaged nations. My body of believers must be prepared so that when they hear My trumpet call and when they hear My still small voice they can respond immediately.
I hear this challenge from the Lord – Is your heart prepared for Me. Is your Soul prepared for Me. Is your life laid down for Me.
Those who are not fully committed to Me, who are lukewarm – They will turn back. They will not finish the race to My heart’s grief. I want My children to run the race and complete the course but it requires discipline, commitment to Me and being prepared in Me to overcome and push through so that nothing will cause you to turn back or give up. The road is narrow ahead, the road is difficult but for those who persevere to the end they will receive the Crown of Life. They will understand what an honour they have gained in Me.
I have given all for you My children – I have it all for you. Come to Me all you who are heavy laden and I will give you rest for your souls. Take My yoke which is easy to bear because we bear it together. Always remember that you do not run this race alone. I run it with you and so do the rest of My believers. You are running for yourself but also with others running with you on the same course. Some ahead and some behind but all going in the same direction and with the same purpose in Me.
Blessed children – prepare yourselves as prize athletes – for the time has come to be ready for the next phase of the race.
Dear friends – whatever stage of the race you are on or whatever lies ahead, I pray that you will be prepared and will overcome. That you will endure to the end and will claim the prize in Christ Jesus your Lord and Saviour. May the grace of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you to keep you in the times ahead. May all you do for His Kingdom prosper and may God use you for His Kingdom in ways that exceed your greatest plans, dreams and visions. Let the double doors be opened and may you go through – enter into all that the Son has for you and may you be filled with the Holy Spirit and the power of the Holy Spirit to flow through you. To God be the glory and honour forever and ever Amen.
I don’t usually do two posts in a day, so this is a new experience for me. I earlier shared my Mum, Pam’s story of her experience with Meningitis in Pam’s story. As it is Father’s Day then I want to honour my Dad, William or Bill as he was usually called, and tell you about him.
Dad’s experience of God’s healing power in his life was very different to Mum’s. We are all unique and no-one’s story is exactly the same. Every story has value and we all have something to share. This is why I believe in the power of testimony. Your story with its uniqueness of relationship with God the Father, Jesus the Son and Holy Spirit will speak to someone.
I believe that God truly knows what is best for each one of us and learning to surrender to him and trusting God when things don’t go according to our plans is a valuable life lesson. Dad’s experiences helped me to understand and see that God’s grace is sufficient for us and how God gives us the grace and strength we need to hold on and persevere in times of testing and suffering.
My Dad, Bill was quite a character. He was a passionate Christian who loved to share the gospel with everyone he met. He was full of energy, never still and very engaging..a cheeky chappie as they say and loved to talk. He could have made a living by talking…He was a big supporter of many Christian ministries and particularly loved T L Osborn, Oral Roberts, Billy Graham. Luis Palau and Reinhard Bonnke.
Dad worked hard. He worked the night shift in a factory and sometimes I would hardly see him. I’d be going out to school and he’d be coming in from work. He had big plans though for when he eventually retired. He was going to take Mum travelling in one of those big Winnebagos. This prompted much laughter in our family as Dad was well known for getting lost and being quite incapable of reading a map. Mum wasn’t much better either so I had quickly learnt to become chief navigator on our family holidays from a young age.
However, sadly those plans were not meant to be. Dad retired at 60 but then almost immediately suffered a massive stroke which rendered him paralysed down one side of his body. He was confined to a wheelchair. We would have loved him to have been miraculously healed but those prayers were not answered. We were grateful though to have him still with us. Dad could still laugh and joke and he still continued to share the gospel. In hospital he had a poster by his bed of Jesus standing beside the empty tomb. I don’t know what happened to him when he was so ill in hospital and unconscious but when he recovered, he could not talk about Jesus without being moved to tears and tell people how much he loved Jesus. It was very humbling to see.
Further tragedy was to strike not long after though when Dad suffered another major stroke. This time it was on the other side of his brain and took his speech. He could no longer talk as he did. It was very hard to see him struggle to express himself. He could utter sounds which we started to learn to interpret and we could still understand some words, especially when he was saying “Jesus”.
During this time, Dad could have become embittered and angry at his lot and how his life had turned out but he didn’t. He faithfully attended church and loved watching and listening to great preachers. He was still grateful to God and he knew that there were also many people who were worse off and suffering much more than him. He was always a big supporter of the Barnabus Fund and taught us that it was important to support fellow believers who were being persecuted and suffering greatly for their faith in other nations.
Dad had lost his independence and all ability to look after himself and was totally reliant on my Mum, my brother and his carers to do everything for him, getting him up, washing, dressing and even feeding. He had limited movement in his right arm but was very weak. He sometimes got frustrated when we couldn’t understand him but he maintained his cheerfulness and was able to cope with what had happened to him. It was only through God’s grace operating in his life that I believe enabled him to be like that. He was a testimony to me and others of God’s grace and peace in action.
Although, Dad was never fully physically healed, he did experience times of God’s healing in his body. One time, I recall was when he was taken extremely ill with pneumonia and was in the hospital. We were called to his bedside because the doctors did not think he would survive the Pneumonia. The chief registrar and doctor stood at the bottom of his bed and it was the first time that I had heard what is called the “death rattle”. It’s the most horrible sound of someone struggling to breathe and effectively taking their lasts breaths. It is a rattling sound from deep within the chest.
I had called my friends from the hospital to pray and I had asked God to take Dad if it was his time but if not, then to restore him to us. It was all I could think to ask God for at that time. We had the comfort as a Christian family to know that Dad would go to be with his Lord Jesus, but truthfully I didn’t want to let him go. He was my Dad and a big influence in my life. I wasn’t ready to say goodbye yet.
As we all waited by his bed, Dad suddenly stirred and pointed to the corner of the room. We couldn’t see anything but I believe that he could see something in the spiritual realm. They say the veil into the spiritual realm is thin at such times. I felt prompted to tell Dad that it wasn’t his time to go. He should tell whoever was there that he wasn’t ready to go with them. I can’t explain what happened next but Dad seemed to relax and continued on breathing but his breathing started to change. It became quieter and more regular. His face changed and was more relaxed.
After a while of this the Registrar stated that he didn’t think Dad was going to die after all that day and they would come back later!! Praise God, Dad recovered and lived for many more years after that day.
Our appointed times are truly in God’s hands. God as our Heavenly Father loves us much more than we can understand. I thank God that my earthly father is now safe in Father God’s care. Dad went to be with the Lord in 2006. I’m sure Bill will have lots to tell me one day when we meet again which we surely will.
Dad always said he was looking forward to getting to heaven. One thing he wanted to do was meet the Apostle Paul. He had lots of questions for him…it makes me smile to think of my Dad chewing the ear off the Apostle Paul..one of his great bible heroes. Bless him.
Dad’s favourite scripture was Psalm 84: It was the reading at his funeral. His favourite verse was:
A single day in your courts is better than a thousand anywhere else! I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God than live the good life in the homes of the wicked. Psalm 84:10
Dad’s enjoying eternity in God’s courts now and I’m sure he has never been happier.
The Lord has impressed upon me recently that He is the one who we can put our trust in 100%. He is able to keep us and help us in all circumstances of life especially those unexpected changes and difficulties. What is unexpected to us is not to Him who knows all things. He has already gone before us and prepared the way. He is preparing us, his body of believers, for more difficult and challenging times ahead so that we can persevere in faith and be overcomers in Him. Holding fast to the confession of our faith in Jesus.
As I was praying I wrote the following which the Lord spoke to my heart about His church, the bride. His unfailing love for us.
My beloveds, I am calling My bride to Me. It is time. I have come to search her out and gather her to me as a hen would gather her chicks. I am come to cover her and protect her in the times ahead. I put my arms around her and hide her under My wings – My arms of protection are all around her.
I will keep her safe and I will protect her. Come to Me in these times ahead which will be very distressing and troubling. There will be great upheaval. There will be a mighty shaking. I will support, protect and look after My bride in these days. She is my beloved. The apple of My eye. My father has entrusted her into My hands and I will present her radiant before My father’s throne.
Hold fast My bride to the confession of your faith. Keep rooted in Me. Keep your eyes fixed on Me. You can rest assured that I will sustain you in the times ahead for all things are in the power of My hand to give to My beloved. Ask of Me and I will provide for you. I will sustain you and protect you. Keep close to Me and I will not let you down. You can trust in My unfailing love for you. A love which will sustain you through all things. Blessed are My children. Blessed are those who put their hope in Me for I will not disappoint them.
I am looking after My children in the times ahead. I will keep them and preserve them from the evil one, for I alone hold the keys of death and hell. They are mine now and I will keep them forever. No-one who belongs to Me will see the second death for I have written their names into the Lamb’s book of life and they are safe in My hands. Whatever may lie ahead of you My beloveds, take heart for I have already walked the path and I will sustain you as you go. Be still and know that I am God. Be at peace in Me. Amen.
Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. Romans 12:12
This is a time for the body of Christ to wake up and get prepared. To be like the wise virgins who had enough oil in their lamps and were ready when the bridegroom came.
We need spiritually to store up oil as without oil there is no light and without oil there is no fire. We need to be filled with the Holy Spirit – the oil of joy is our strength and to be on fire for Christ.
This is a time to discern the season and what God is about. The cockerel has crowed for this nation and the clock is ticking down.
God is on the move.
Our faith needs to be strong and our feet planted on the solid rock – Christ Jesus. If we are then we will not give up in this season and will strive on to see Christ’s work accomplished.
We will climb the mountain to experience His holy presence and see Christ face to face.
Not everyone will follow and some may lose their way but those who press on will go through the Refiner’s fire. All the muck & chaff in us must come to the top and be skimmed off. Then, we will be as gold reflecting God’s love and filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. We need to step into His holy fire as it will refine and purify us.
The time is coming for the wave to break. It has gathered in the deep waters and is now pushing towards the shore.
In the spirit, I saw this wave and it was huge – like a tsunami. The time for the wave to break will come soon and it will bring such a revival in the body of Christ. Those who turned away will repent of their sin and lack of faith. They will return to the Lord and He to them. They will go out to do His works.
Isaiah 33 v 14 – “Who amongst us shall dwell with the devouring fire? Who amongst us shall dwell with everlasting burnings? He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly.”
Hosea 3 v10 “Sow for yourselves righteousness, reap in mercy, break up your fallow ground for it is time to seek the Lord till He comes and rains righteousness on you”.
It is “to know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings being confirmed to his death”.
