Yesterday I was leading our church service which is a blessing but also a challenge for me. I’m not the most organised of people so I find it difficult to follow the schedule!!
I love praise and worship time and I can lose myself in worship. Once my Pastor had to give me a big nudge and a hard glare to remind me I was supposed to be up the front leading as worship had finished. I was still in the worship zone.
The Lord can use our weaknesses and teach us. It’s out of my comfort zone to lead the service..I usually forget I’m supposed to bring the notices, forget my glasses. Yesterday the church team had already printed out the notices for me in large font so I could read them even without my glasses. What a team.
One of the blessings of leading is helping us to hear and discern what the Spirit is saying and respond to the Lord. Yesterday the Lord was encouraging us to remember how powerful and the authority of the name of Jesus. The name above all names.
There are situations and circumstances that we were encouraged to speak the name of Jesus over. To picture the Spirit of God hovering over us ready to move. God is present with us.
I was reminded of Genesis..the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. Then God spoke! Life came.
We need to find our voices and speak Jesus into situations and circumstances. Jesus brings life. Dry bones come to life. Healing takes place. Joy and hope return. Faith rises. Jesus brings change.
There are plenty of reasons the enemy will use to try and silence your voice. I’m sure you like me could list many right now. I encourage you not to listen to those voices but find your voice..the voice that speaks Jesus.
Your voice doesn’t need to be the loudest in the room. Start with a whisper but find your voice and speak. It is the power and authority of the name of Jesus whether whispered or shouted that is the key.
Not by might not by power but by My Spirit says the Lord.
One small whisper could be all it takes…
“The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.”
Genesis 1:2-3 NKJV
