Are you ready for the day of visitation…

When I was young if one of my Aunts was coming to visit then my Dad ( the younger sibling) would go into a mad frenzy of preparing the house. Everything would be tidied, neat, cleaned and made as welcoming as possible. It was as though royalty was coming to visit not a relative. I had a more laid back attitude of “it’s family, what’s the fuss”.

The day of our greatest visitation may be upon us…are we ready?

Have we made our preparations ready to receive?

Have we made the necessary preparations to receive the Lord Jesus Christ?

I have been pondering this question of preparation and being ready again this week. It is a theme the Lord keeps bringing back to my heart.

Our UK government has now published advice on items that each household should have ready in the case of “an event”.

It includes lists of food items, first aid kit, communication devices and torches for light etc. I have never known such a thing before so if the secular world is getting ready then how much more in addition to this do we need to be ready for what God is doing and going to do in these days.

In the child’s game the caller says “Ready or not here I come” !

Below is a link to some of my other posts on this theme.
