A covering of love..Jesus became uncovered for us

When Adam and Eve sinned God made a covering of love for them.  They had by their sin stepped out from glory into sin.

Their bodies and the ground was now cursed because of their sin.  

The environment they lived in had become hostile to them immediately. 

God knew their vulnerability.

God knew that they would need His protection now.  

God covered them.

God took skins and covered the shame of Adam and Eve but He also protected them. 

It was a covering of love.  

God does the same for us.  

He covers us with His love.  

He covers our shame and our sins are covered by His son’s blood.  

We too must be a covering for other people. 

Our pastors and our leaders are a covering over us before God.  

They are responsible for us and have to account to God before Him for their covering of us.  

Families cover each other. 

A husband covers his wife.  

He is to cover her with the same love which Christ Jesus has for the church.  

His wife comes under that covering.  Her husband covers her.  That is why God’s heart is for the widows who have no husband’s covering.  God becomes their covering instead.

Parents cover their children with love until it is time for them to step out from under that covering.  Matured and grown they become a covering for others. That is why God’s heart is for the orphans who have no one to cover them.  

God calls to others to adopt them into their families as God has adopted us as sons and daughters. They are covered in love and so are we by our Heavenly Father. 

Who are you covering today.  

Who is covering you.  

We must cover in love those who God has called us and put us with to cover. My brothers and sisters in Christ.  I am a covering of love for them.  

We do not cover sin but we expose the works of darkness. We do not expose the person or cause them pain or suffering unless it has to be done in accordance with God’s Word in God’s way and not our way. 

We must not be triumphant over those who have erred or wandered from the truth but we must pull them back from the fire.  

We are to be our brother’s keepers and to cover each other with love as our Heavenly Father covers us.

Jesus took our shame and nailed it to the cross. 

Jesus became uncovered for us.  

We are saved by grace lest any should boast. 

Our hope and assurance is in Jesus who is the Author and Finisher of our faith.
