Hope Street..

At one end of Hope Street in Liverpool there is the Catholic Church designed to resemble the crown of Jesus Christ. It is the most incredible structure and inside is filled with stained glass which being a circular design catches the light on the sculptures.

At the other end of Hope Street is Liverpool Cathedral the largest cathedral in Britain. It’s a modern cathedral and again, an incredible place of worship and prayer. It is without doubt awe inspiring when you walk through the doors into the vast space.

These two incredible buildings stand as witnesses to Jesus Christ our hope.

When I was young I was brought up in a very sectarian area and I was not allowed to speak or mix with Catholics, to have a Catholic friend or go into a Catholic Church. I would not have been able to go into the Catholic Cathedral on Hope Street. That sectarianism was wrong.

Halfway along Hope Street there is a statue of both the Catholic and the Anglican Bishops with a message of reconciliation and hope.

May we be Christ’s ambassadors of Hope and Reconciliation today. Amen 🙏

    Beautiful!
For my brothers and companions’ sake I will say, “Peace be within you!” For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek your good. Psalm 122:8-9 (ESV)
