Creation is amazing and the awe and wonder of creation can stir our hearts and teach us much.
God’s creation is a precious thing.
Today let’s pause for a moment to consider the awe and wonder of God’s creation.
Take the humble little ant. The bible says:
“Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise,” Proverbs 6:6 NKJV
The ant has much to teach us:
They are incredibly strong in relation to their size;
They are busy and diligent;
They are community minded working together without lording it over each other;
They are organised and make preparations for hard times ahead; and
They are wise.
“Which, having no captain, overseer or ruler, provides her supplies in the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest.
Proverbs 6:7-98 NKJV
“There are four things which are little on the earth, But they are exceedingly wise:
The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their food in the summer;”
Proverbs 30:24 -25 NKJV
These characteristics remind me of how we should live as disciples of Jesus for the sake of the gospel.
We are called to prefer others above ourselves and to honour and respect each other.
We are called to be in unity working together each bringing our gifts and ministries.
We are called to be diligent and persevere and not be lazy or apathetic.
Although we are small and weak, we are strong in the Lord and by the power of His Spirit.
We are called to be ready, prepared and vigilant. Watching and waiting for Jesus.
What does the little ant remind you of today.
