Lifting the weight..

I had the privilege of praying with a lady recently.

She had heard the gospel and responded to the message of the promise of God’s salvation and love.

She wanted to know Jesus and be assured of salvation.

It was a beautiful time of confession and acceptance of Jesus’ forgiveness.

She was born again of the Spirit of God.

The joy in her face was wonderful to see.

There was more though.

After praying she kept moving her head from side to side and lifting her shoulders.

I asked if she was ok and she replied that she felt so much lighter. The weight on her shoulders had lifted completely.

She felt so different.

I explained that yes..Jesus has taken her sins, her shame, her guilt, her wrongs, worries and fears. All that was weighing her down had been lifted by Jesus.

It is called the divine exchange.

Jesus takes away the old and corrupt and gives us new life in Him.

We are changed in that instant when we give our life to Jesus.

We become alive by the Spirit of God.

Do you know Jesus dear reader.

Do you have the assurance of His Salvation.

Are you weighed down by sin, by shame and guilt.

If so there is good news.

You too can experience what that lady experienced.

Jesus died for your sins.

Just as that lady decided to believe and accept the gift of salvation in Christ so you too can decide to accept Jesus, confess your sins and receive His forgiveness.

Do not leave it too late.

Decide today to follow Him and become a Jesus follower and disciple.

Let Jesus take that burden you have been carrying for too long now.
