This theme of family reunion is still on my heart so perhaps somebody needs to know today there is hope of restoration of relationships.
The Lord has been reminding me of families being reunited through prayer and that each time that reunion of family led to a reunion with Father God himself.
Yesterday in my post Re-United…I shared the story of my friends being reunited with their grandchild.
Today I want to share another encouraging testimony of a mother being reunited with a daughter.
When I met my friend she had been through a lot in life and suffered but she was and is an incredible woman of faith and strong in the Word of God.
My friend had a daughter who was estranged from her and would not speak or see her. She only knew what was happening in her life and grandchildren through contact with her other children.
We prayed regularly about the restoration of this relationship again over many years. It caused my friend a lot of pain that the relationship was broken.
My friend had written letters and tried to initiate contact over the years but each time to no avail. Each time there was rejection. It was as if everything she wrote just went into a void of silence.
One day my friend mentioned that she felt prompted to write again to her daughter. We prayed because we were concerned how another rejection would make her feel. This desire though to write did not go away so my friend wrote another letter.
This time though something changed and that letter was received and something happened. Her daughter responded.
It’s hard when you have been rejected time after time to keep trying and not lose hope. My friend believes it was the Lord prompting her to write again because the Lord had been doing a work (unknown to her) in her daughter’s heart and that heart was now responsive.
It took boldness and courage in my friend to knock on the door of that heart again. To face yet another rejection but to believe and follow the Lord’s leading.
In one story it was my friends grandchild who came seeking. My friends had to wait patiently for her to come to them.
This time it was my friend who persevered in knocking on that heart. She did not give up.
My friend’s daughter is a Christian now as well. She found her Father in Heaven too. Reunion with her mother was precious but reunion with her Heavenly Father was the greatest treasure.
Is the Lord speaking to your heart through these posts.
Is there a family member that the Lord wants you to be reunited with.
Have you lost hope that it could happen. Be encouraged by these two testimonies.
I encourage you to pray my friend into your situation too for the Lord to come and do His work. Find a friend who will pray and discern God’s heart with you for your situation.
Sometimes we try and make things happen in our own strength and it doesn’t work. We then give up. Is it time to try again?
Relationships can be mended in and through God’s grace.
