Pentecost..The Paraclete

Some years ago, I had a beautiful dream, in which the Lord revealed to me the significance of the Holy Spirit as our paraclete – our comforter and counselor.

The word Paraclete is from the Greek “parakletos” “called in aid’, from “para – alongside” and “kletos “from “kalein ‘to call’

In my dream I was walking down a long corridor, with light streaming through each window of each room, each door was flung wide open – freedom! 

I was so aware of the Paraclete right beside, so close as breathing, a supernatural support and strength.

I could lean in.

It was just Him and I.

He was letting me know that in this season ahead, He was setting the captives free, He was alongside in this season. He was close. I could call on Him for all I needed.

John 14:26

“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper [Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor – Counselor, Strengthener, Standby] to be with you forever!”

For me, at that moment, the Paraclete was Comforter and Strengthener.

He is there for every situation ahead, He can advise, give us solutions! He can back us, champion us, support us! Give us the answers! HE is for us, He is with us.

One of my favourite scripture verses is Colossians 2:3

“In Him all the treasures of [divine] wisdom [comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God] and [all the riches of spiritual] knowledge and enlightenment are stored up and lie hidden.”

Here it is!

The Holy Spirit always points us to Jesus and makes known to us all His Godly and pure wisdom – treasures of divine wisdom!

Each day, let us remind ourselves of just how beautiful and truly awesome it IS, that He is our Helper! In all circumstances, in all ways, He is our all in all.
