I am away this week on holiday in North Yorkshire enjoying the peace and beauty of the landscape.
We did a beautiful walk yesterday along the coast path from Ravenscar (the town that never was) to Hayburn Wyke along the Cleveland way. The views across to Robin Hood’s bay were wonderful and we even saw some dolphins.
I recently read these beautiful verses from Psalm 85 about walking in God’s footsteps. Some of yesterday’s walk was challenging, with some steep sections along the way and I needed to rest and refresh as I went but it was so rewarding. It was an unknown path and unfamiliar to us. We had not travelled this way before.
God’s footsteps can often lead us along all different and unfamiliar paths of life in different seasons but He has made a way before us and He calls us to follow Him.
I hope these verses bless your soul today as they did mine.
“Mercy and truth have met together;
Righteousness and peace have kissed. Truth shall spring out of the earth,
And righteousness shall look down from heaven.
Yes, the Lord will give what is good;
And our land will yield its increase. Righteousness will go before Him,
And shall make His footsteps our pathway.”
Ps.85.10-13
Father God, I pray this week that we will walk in your footsteps along the pathway of your righteousness, your truth, your mercy and your peace.
Amen
