Respect..prayer for the week ahead 7/4

‘You shall rise before the gray headed and honor the presence of an old man, and fear your God: I am the Lord.”
Leviticus 19.32 NKJV

Father God, this week help us to honour, respect and look for opportunities to show worth to the older people we know and those we meet. Let them know that they are loved, honoured, valued and respected. Let us cultivate and model respect of our elders in our families and communities and not disregard, abandon and neglect the elderly in their later years. May we help their voices be heard and advocate for them when they are treated unfairly and abused. Grant us humility and patience to listen and learn from them. Lead us to those who are lonely and may we overflow your love, comfort and grace to them. Amen 🙏
