I am taking some time away with family and visiting the Brecon Beacons in Wales this weekend.
The cottage we are staying is very old so comes with its quirks but it is solid, warm and welcoming with a lovely big log burner .
The cottage is called Forest Lodge and it stands on land that was once owned by the King of England in the 1800s.
Apparently, the Crown sold the land and used the proceeds to build the famous Regent street in London.
I think the present King might regret that decision of his ancestor. Losing this beautiful area of outstanding natural beauty at the foot of the Brecon Beacon mountains for a busy London street.
One of those might bring more revenue and wealth in terms of money but the peace and beauty of this created spot is immeasurably more valuable to me.
It’s true rest for the soul.
This made me think of another exchange which Jesus made for me and you. Taking on himself all my dirty clothes of sin and shame and exchanging it for a robe of righteousness and garment of salvation, the oil of gladness and new life and hope.
I hope you enjoy this re-post today of the The Divine Exchange.
Have a blessed day my friends.
