‘And if a stranger dwells with you in your land, you shall not mistreat him. The stranger who dwells among you shall be to you as one born among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.”
Leviticus 19.33-34NKJV
Father God, we lift up and cry out to you for those amongst us who are vulnerable and being exploited because of their circumstances. We ask that you will expose those who are exploiting the vulnerable and profiting from the misfortune of others and rescue people from their wicked schemes. Set those who are being oppressed free Lord and help them. Comfort them in their distress and be their hope. We remember our Lord Jesus who had to flee for his life and was a stranger in Egypt. May we have the opportunity as your people to show your love and treat the strangers amongst us with respect, kindness and love. May we be your voice of justice crying out for those who have no voice. Amen
