Direction..

I heard something simple last week but very profound.

My friend loves to bake bread and showed us one of his loaves.

The loaf was perfectly baked in a round with a cross on the front.

He explained that he makes a simple cross in the dough before it bakes to give the bread direction as it rises in the oven so that the baked loaf is the shape he wants.

Without the cross, the bread would lose its shape in the hot oven.

I’m so grateful that the cross of Jesus gives my life direction and purpose to become the shape Jesus wants and especially in the “heat” of the oven of life’s difficult circumstances.
