Wait patiently..

The Lord has been reminding me at the start of this year of His previous encouragement to wait patiently for Him and to let patience have its perfect work.

I read a post yesterday from my friend Alan at Devotional Treasures (link here His Appointed Time) which definitely came at an appointed time for me to confirm the word the Lord is speaking to me and to encourage me again.

It is so counter-cultural to wait for anything and so often we as believers in Christ also fall into the trap of wanting instant results and become discouraged and frustrated in the waiting time rather than growing, preparing, thanking and trusting God in our wait.

The waiting time is for our benefit.

I have posted before on waiting and again the Lord is calling me to wait patiently for my Isaac. If you are also in a waiting season then I hope you will be strengthened and encouraged as you wait on the Lord.

Wait Patiently…

It is an encouragement to wait patiently for God’s perfect timing and not to try and make something happen in my own strength.

A reminder that God will bring about His perfect Will in His timing and to wait patiently for the Lord.

In times of suffering, disappointment and hurt to wait patiently in faith and hope for God for He will not disappoint. He will deliver.

I pray for the wisdom not to try and bring about the promise of God through my own efforts. To wait patiently for my Isaac and not to birth my own Ishmael.

I waited patiently for the Lord; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry” Psalm 40.1 NKJV

Nicola, I appreciate your faithful witness and the sharing of this testament. In my own journey, God has encouraged patience through His Word as well as through thoughtful prayer. Thanks for sharing the link to Alan’s post. Peace be with you.

Thank you for giving reference to Devotional Treasure Nicola. You are right that patiently waiting is not an empty thing but it is a time of spiritual blessing from God, with the crescendo when He answers our prayer. May you know the closeness of His Spirit of Peace sister 🙏
