Advent Love..

This weekend at church we will light our 4th Advent candle which represents love.

Christmas reminds us as believers that love requires action.

Christianity is not lip service love.

God demonstrated His love by sending Jesus, His beloved son to us.

Jesus demonstrated His love by willingly laying aside His glory, leaving His Father and suffering and dying in our place.

Christmas reminds us of the new commandment Jesus gives to us:

“This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that a person will lay down his life for his friends. You are My friends if you do what I command you.” John.15.12-14 NASB

Christmas can be a very busy, busy time of year but may the Advent candle of love burn brightly in and through us this Christmas as we show God’s love to others.

Love comes in all shapes and sizes but there is a love shaped hole that needs filling in someone’s life today. Could we be the ones to fill it.
