Many of my dear friends are going through times of trial and difficulty at the moment. Times which are painful and challenging. You may also know people in such situations or be experiencing these times yourself.
When these seasons are long, I can start to struggle to know what to pray.
I often feel I’ve exhausted every request before God.
I then start to pray more from my flesh/head knowledge and what I think needs to be done rather than humbly submitting the situation to God and praying as led by the Spirit of God.
I can also forget to pray faithfully about these situations as new prayer needs arise.
I am preaching on the parable of the persistent widow this week and am reminded how it’s so important to uphold people at these times in prayer before God.
Prayer makes a difference.
Prayer is powerful.
Prayer brings change.
If I struggle to pray about a difficult situation looking from the outside in, then how much more might the person who is in that situation find it to pray.
I have been encouraged to pray these verses from1 Peter 5 10-11 for a friend who is going through a difficult time.
“But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.”
Is there someone God is also gently reminding you about and bringing to your mind today. Your prayers for them will make a difference.
