Tell of His Wonderful Works..

King David said:

I have proclaimed good news of righteousness in the great congregation; Behold, I will not restrain my lips, Lord, You know. I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart; I have spoken of Your faithfulness and Your salvation; I have not concealed Your mercy and Your truth from the great congregation.” Psalm 40.9-10 NASB

“I have not restrained my lips.”

What a great choice of words that David uses. There are many things today in our society that try to restrain our lips from telling the truth about God.

Free speech is just a tokenism because the only free speech that people want to hear is that which fits their agenda and doesn’t offend or comprise. Lies are blatantly peddled as truth under the pretence of free speech.

Jesus came to us to reveal God. The people at the time, although they thought they knew God, did not fully understand God’s character and Jesus came to show the Father.

Jesus lived out God’s character whilst He was amongst them and did God’s wonderful works.

If someone said something wrong or untruthful about my earthly Father or misrepresented him, I would have soon corrected them and put them right.

How often do I miss the chance to correct people’s misunderstanding of God.

Let us be encouraged today to follow David’s example and when opportunity arises to tell others the truth about God our Father in heaven.

Let our lips be free from restraint today. Let us be unbridled truth tellers.

I love the idea of not being afraid to speak our truth. We are free…not because the world affords us freedom, but because Christ does. I love how Jesus spoke freely and also spoke with incredible wisdom and love towards the people He was correcting. If I can somehow gather His freedom, wisdom and love together in my mouth, I know then I will have something of true value to share with the world!

What a great encouragement indeed Nicola! I would even go as far as to say we should seek opportunities to tell God’s Truth; we should pray for the Holy Spirit to guide us into opportunities each day. Thank you for sharing this post with us today! God bless you today sister 🙏
