Stumbling blocks..

This week the Lord has been speaking to me about stumbling blocks. The Lord reminded me of a time when He revealed a stumbling block.

It was during a season when the Lord had clearly spoken to me about His plans for growth and expansion but had also revealed that there was a stumbling block to that growth.

The Lord was very specific about the identity of the stumbling block. God did that for a reason. The stumbling block in this case needed to be prayerfully surrendered and removed. This particular stumbling block was stopping growth.

In prayer, we submitted the stumbling block to the Lord and prayed for His Will to be done in the situation.

In due course, the stumbling block was removed.

It was not an easy situation and very painful at times, but once the stumbling block was removed the prophetic word the Lord had given about expansion and growth came to pass.

So why has the Lord brought this back to me this week?

It may be a word in season that will bring some revelation and Godly wisdom into a situation you find yourself in too.

Is there a stumbling block the Lord wants to reveal to you that is stopping and hindering the work of God in your life.

Perhaps the Lord was also reminding me that just because we have prayed and dealt with one stumbling block that is not the end of the story.

We are in a new season of change.

In this season are there other stumbling blocks or stones to be removed or as my friend said wisely this week to be “dissipated” or “dissolved”.

It’s also humbling to have to consider and ask if I am or have I become a stumbling block to the Lord’s plans. Am I unwittingly in the way of what the Lord wants to do now. Has my season run it’s course and I need to hand on the baton.

I need to keep surrendered, teachable and obedient in whatever God has called me to steward in His Kingdom.

My flesh and my thoughts can easily deceive me and I can allow myself to become prideful and led astray by wrong influences.

I need to keep a soft heart to hear the Lord speak and be accountable to those I am in fellowship with.

These verses from Isaiah 62:10 have been brought to mind.

“Go through, go through the gates,Clear a way for the people!Build up, build up the highway,Remove the stones, lift up a flag over the peoples.”

I pray the Lord will bring His wisdom and reveal the stumbling blocks which need to be removed in these days.
