Don’t forget the going…

I have been reminded through the posts in our Encounters with Jesus series that Jesus often gave instructions to people after meeting him to then Go..whatever they received from Jesus..then Go..Go and show they were healed or Go tell others how merciful and compassionate God had been to them and do likewise. It has reminded me of a word the Lord gave me last year on this theme of – Don’t forget the going.

Last week in church, the words “coming and going” kept coming to my mind. I was pondering on them and then the Holy Spirit spoke these words to me “Don’t forget the going”..It was a reminder that as a follower of Jesus I am also called to go…

We come to Jesus Christ who is the bread of life and the way to fellowship with Father God. He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill us with His presence and empower us to be His witnesses. He is the Word made flesh. The sustainer of all things.

We are not filled for our own sakes or becoming Christlike for our own sakes though but rather to GO and show Jesus to others.

Let’s not forget the going….

Wherever the Lord has led you to go…your workplace, your school, your neighbourhood, your town, your city…you are an Ambassador of Jesus Christ.

Be encouraged that you are not going alone, not only is Jesus with us, but always remember that you are part of the body of Christ. Knit together with other believers in Christ. You have fellow brothers and sisters in Christ to help, pray, support and disciple you with the going.

Lord, we pray that we will not forget the going. That as you give to us freely, that we may share you freely with others. Empower us afresh today by the power of the Holy Spirit to be your witnesses wherever you will lead us. Stir us from our comfortable places and help us to be bold and not waste an opportunity to share you, the King of Glory and Saviour of the world. Amen

And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” Mark 16:15

Excellent encouraging post Nicola, thank you. It reminded me of an old Salvation Army song “I Will Go In The Strength of The Lord” which is a beautiful marching song.

God bless you today sister 🙏
