Men of Jericho..

I want to encourage someone today with a verse God highlighted to me in Nehemiah 3, which is about the rebuilding and restoration of the walls and gates of Jerusalem.

In verse 2 it says “And next to him the men of Jericho built”.

Just as the walls of Jericho came crashing down so something in your life might have come crashing down unexpectedly. It feels as though everything you built has been reduced to ruins.

Do not give up hope or allow the hurt and disappointment to crush you or shut you down from trying again.

Be encouraged today by the example of these men of Jericho….it was a different generation but they still are identified as “men of Jericho” who built again…not in the same way or in the same place ..you too can build again through God’s strength and encouragement and the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Out of the rubble God can build again.

What better rebuilding crew could there be than some people from Jericho? As you said, they’d heard stories of the fall of Jericho’s mighty walls. The best disaster relief often comes from those who have been there and done that. Great insight, Nicola.
