I walked up….

a mountain today! I still can’t quite believe I did it.

It was much harder than I thought it would be. It rained, it was misty and very windy.

At one point, we could hardly see more than 10 metres in front of us but that was perhaps a good thing because we just put our heads down and kept going. We were raising money for a children’s hospice and we couldn’t let them down.

If I had been able to see how steep the climb was, how high it was and how far away the summit was, I would have turned back. I would have been overwhelmed and doubted it was possible.

I’m so glad I didn’t because after 4 hours we got to the summit and the sky cleared and we could see. It was like wow….I can now see this beautiful view and it was so worth it.

Anyway, this is me near the top and my hair has a life of its own!

Beautiful
I dit it 😊

    Great effort. Well done!!

I never actually go up Snowdon.

Did a couple of support things for people who did though (including the 3 Peaks Challenge where I was a driver).

That is a good illustration of life right there Nicola, of life and the Christian walk too.

Thanks Alan. My thoughts too. David made me realise that coming down had its challenges too. Not falling over 🤣

You make a valid point about descends…I can climb stairs but coming down is very tricky for me! 😁

Way to go, Nicola! I’ve undertaken such hikes and climbs, but not lately. And we are of similar age! Hopefully, coming down the mountain was easier than going up. What a breathtaking view—above the clouds!

Thanks David. It was glorious. It was interesting coming down because it was a shorter more challenging route to go up and longer route down. Steep then levelled out. I thought it would be easier but in a way more challenging not to fall over 🤣
