Last weekend, the Lord spoke this one word “Recover” very clearly to me.
Have you seen these warning signs..”beware there are thieves operating in this area.”
If you visit some places here in the UK, particularly the popular tourist areas, you will be warned to keep an eye on your valuables, because there are thieves about.
These thieves are looking for an opportunity to steal from you without you even noticing. They are the pick pockets who will lift your wallet and your bag and you won’t even feel it.
Jesus warned us that there is a thief at work.
He is satan.
He is a thief and his intention and strategy is to steal from us.
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I (Jesus) have come that they may have life, and that they may have more abundantly.” John 10:10
As I mentioned at the start of my post, I awoke in the night and the Lord spoke this word “Recover” very clearly to me. As I prayed the Lord stirred my heart to remember that satan is a thief who actively comes and steals.
The word “Recover” was an instruction to act and the intention was for me “to go Recover”.
As I was reminded that satan is a thief who steals from us, I took encouragement and my faith rose that Jesus came to destroy satan’s works.
We are not to be ignorant of the devil’s schemes against us.
It’s time for us to call out the enemy for what he is..a thief..and actively recover what the enemy has stolen from us as inheritors of the promises of God through faith in Jesus’ accomplished work on the cross. We are children of the living God.
The Lord reminded me of the story of David in 1 Samuel 30. Whilst David was away at battle with his men, the Amalekites raid and carry off their wives, children and goods. David and his men are distraught when they discover this. David enquires of the Lord and is told go, pursue and you will recover all.
“So David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?”And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.” 1Sam.30.8 NKJV
That really struck me. Not recover part or some but they would recover all that was rightfully theirs.
Satan is a thief. A thief is subtle and often we don’t notice that something has been stolen from us. David and his men were away when the enemy stole from them. It’s not a full on assault like robbery or burglary (when it’s obvious a burglar has ransacked your belongings) this is subtle and the last thing the enemy wants is for us to discover what has been stolen. The Lord knows though what is rightfully ours as our inheritance in Christ and what the enemy has stolen away.
I believe the Lord wants to reveal to us corporately and individually what has been stolen from us and for us to recover it from the enemy. The Lord is encouraging us to ask and seek Him for revelation and understanding about this.
What has the enemy stolen from you? There may be some obvious things but what about the things you haven’t noticed are missing? Prayerfully, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal this to you so you can recover.
The Lord revealed to me that the enemy had stolen my rest. I have the promise of rest in Jesus and I was encouraged to read my Bible and discover the truth about the true rest for my soul that I have in and through faith in Jesus.
Are there truths about God that the enemy has stolen away. Revelation, wisdom and understanding of God and what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ. The enemy wants to steal away many things..he steals the seed.
The Lord reminded me of the power in His blood.
I recalled that song “There is power, power, wonder working power in the blood of the lamb”.
I was reminded that the Israelites applied the blood of the lambs to the doorposts of their homes in Egypt and the Angel of death passed over.
The word “protection” came to me. There is power in Jesus’ blood and some of the understanding around the power of Jesus’ blood has been stolen from us as people of God.
I hope this post blesses and encourages you.
