I went to my first marriage blessing and thanksgiving service yesterday. It was beautiful. Not only was the weather perfect but the church, St Mary’s, was the epitome of an English Cotswold village church. The village has thatched cottages and the church sits there in all its beauty with the most awesome spire (so tall it didn’t make it into my photo 🤣)

I had sort of wondered before going why there was going to be a service. The couple had been married for 15 years but this was such a beautiful reminder of God’s holy marriage and the importance of including God in the relationship. It was a renewal of vows taken and honoured and thanking God for all He has done for the couple. It made me realise how precious marriage is.
The reading from Colossians was a reminder of Godly character and the importance of love.

I pray those words of St Paul will guide our behaviour today with all those we meet and are in relationship today. Blessings.
