Cast off the grave clothes

Morning, this is my last re-post for the Easter season which I hope blesses and encourages you for the week ahead.

When Jesus rose from the dead, He left his grave clothes in the tomb. I want to say that again- He left his grave clothes in the tomb.

Why.

Jesus didn’t need them anymore. They were obsolete garments.

Jesus was clothed in new garments and glory and resurrection power.

As a believer in Jesus Christ you don’t need your grave clothes anymore either.

If you are still wearing your grave clothes, then I encourage you to cast them off.

You have been born again, raised to new life in Jesus and seated with Him in heavenly places.

You are clothed with the garment of salvation and a robe of righteousness.

Jesus has taken those stinking, heavy grave clothes and exchanged them for new heavenly robes.

It’s the divine exchange. Praise God.

Peter therefore went out, and the other disciple, and were going to the tomb. So they both ran together, and the other disciple outran Peter and came to the tomb first. And he, stooping down and looking in, saw the linen cloths lying there; yet he did not go in. Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb; and he saw the linen cloths lying there, and the handkerchief that had been around His head, not lying with the linen cloths, but folded together in a place by itself.” John 20:3-7

Thank God for resurrected Jesus! “No one tears a piece from a new garment and puts it on an old garment; if he does, he will tear the new, and the piece from the new will not match the old. And no one puts new wine into an old wineskin…it will burst and be destroyed. But new wine must be put in fresh wineskins. And no one after drinking old wine desires new; for he says, ‘The old is good’ ” ~Jesus in Luke 5:36-39
