Are you connected to the source?

This was the question the Lord prompted me to ask our fellowship last week. Are we connected to the source?

Imagine trying to operate and use any electrical appliance without it being connected to a source of electricity. It needs electricity’s power to fully function as intended.

So we too as believers in Christ Jesus and His disciples need to be connected to Jesus, rooted in Jesus and established in Jesus through faith. Jesus is our connector to God and without Jesus we have no true fellowship with God. Jesus is the way to God. Jesus reveals God.

We are to be filled and re-filled with the Holy Spirit and the power of the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit who infills us with Godly gifts and Godly character to be God’s witnesses of His glory and power.

We can often drift from our Godly source without realising we have lost connection or the connection has become weak and intermittent. We try to do things in our own strength. We become weary, discouraged and weak. I have done this and I’m sure many reading can recognise it too. Sometimes we drift.

Do you need a re-connection today? Do you need fresh hope, love, mercy, kindness, tenderness, forgiveness, healing, restoration, grace, a peace that is beyond words, wisdom, strength, patience, endurance, boldness.

Jesus says “Come”.

Come back and reconnect with the source of true life, the true bread and living water.

Come today, don’t leave it any longer to re-connect with the Living Word.

Re-connect with the source by reading (or listening) to your Bible, fellowshipping with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit in prayer, fasting, worship, praise and thanksgiving. Growing in the knowledge of God and His ways. Strengthened in your innermost being. Seeking to be filled and re-filled with the Holy Spirit. Engaging with your fellow believers for mutual support in a community of faith.

“I am the vine, you the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.” John 15 4-8

  1. My mum used a similar example when I was a young believer to teach me the importance of prayer in staying connected to God. That has always stayed with me. A good post Nicola.
