Transforming Truths..

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God” Rom.12.2

The truth(s) in God’s Word are intended to transform us and our lives of faith when we correctly understand them and apply them to our lives.

However, each of our minds have been and continue to be influenced by many things which mean that sometimes we do not really deep in our hearts believe all of the truths in the bible, understand them or readily accept that they are actually for us because our experiences or the influences around us have corrupted our thinking about God and His ways in certain aspects.

The journey of Discipleship in Christ and living out our faith daily are part of the process by which we discover those thoughts and beliefs which we have about God and His Kingdom which are wrong. We come on a journey to learn the truth. Our minds have to be made new in those parts as the old pattern of thinking is replaced by the new.

Now I know from my own experiences and from years of prayer ministry with other believers that this can be easier said than done and can be a difficult journey because years of wrong thinking has to be changed. It can require us to confront some painful experiences which have shaped our thinking. It requires us to humble ourselves to accept that we may be wrong. It requires us to diligently pursue truth and apply ourselves to reading and studying God’s Word so that we know God and His ways. It requires us to trust and walk in faith when our present reality says something different.

It requires effort on our part to refuse to accept things the way they are and a desire to know more about God and His ways. To burn with a passion for His righteousness and to see His glory shine in and through us. A passion for God and His ways..to love the Lord our God with all our hearts, strength and mind.

Accepting Christ as Lord and Saviour of our lives is just the first step of growing in the knowledge of Him. There is an ongoing work to be done in each one of us daily with the help and power of the Holy Spirit.

The Lord has been really burdening my heart to share more about His power to bring transformation to our lives. The bible is full of Transforming Truths.

I want to encourage us in some posts over the coming weeks and months to consider some of these Transforming Truths in the bible. I believe our lives will be so blessed as we discover God’s perfect will for each of us.
