I saw these lovely old posters in a railway station today and they reminded me of the incredible blessing of being washed clean of sin by the precious blood of Jesus.
“Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.” Psalm 51:7
No man made soap could ever wash away our sins and make us clean in God’s sight.
“For though you wash yourself with lye, and use much soap, Yet your iniquity is marked before Me,” says the Lord God. Jeremiah 2:22”
It is only the “son” the “light” of the world who can make us truly clean.
Thankfully, Jesus is always willing to cleanse us. His offer is open to everyone to come and be cleansed.
“And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.” Matthew 8:2-3
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”
1 John 1:9
Thank you Lord for cleansing us from our sins and making us clean and righteous in your sight. Amen
