Morning all, I hope you are well. Today’s post is a story from my friend Heather.
“The Roasting Pan”
One day as I took my roasting pan out of the oven, I looked at it in dismay -what a mess. It was originally quite an expensive one but it needed a lot of scrubbing to restore it. My thoughts were- bin it !! I can always get a new one and start afresh.
But what did I hear the Lord say to me “good job I didn’t do that with you”
Yes I thought. God has taken great pains over me – to clean me up and make me fit for purpose, so that I can help others see that God loves and cares for all He has made.
God loves us and He loves us too much to leave us in our messy state and he definitely doesn’t think we are not worthy of being cleaned. He would never bin us.
Sometimes, it takes quite a few times to clean us up because we still mess up. In fact God never stops working on us. He knows we are human and will mess up, but He is always ready and willing to give us a clean start.
So let’s think more of ourselves because of what Jesus has done for us and each day set out with a clean start to be used by God.
We have been redeemed and cleansed by the precious blood of Christ.
We are new creations in Jesus.
In the Potter’s hands we can be reshaped and made as new.
Jeremiah 29 v11 says “ I know the plans I have for you to prosper you and not to harm you . Plans to give you a hope and a future.”
Have a blessed day x
