From my dear friend Heather:
The Lord woke me early with the words: “Stay close to the shepherd”. I immediately thought of Psalm 23. I had only read the first two lines and that was when He stopped me.
“The Lord is MY shepherd I shall not want”
He said I am YOUR shepherd.
He is not just a shepherd. He is The loving shepherd who wants to be intimately involved in everything in our lives. The shepherd tends, cares for all the needs of his flock, they are precious to him. He knows when one is hurting, injured, tangled up or going astray. (You get the picture)
He goes after them and they know His comforting voice, the voice of safety, strength and wisdom. (The voice of true love.)
When we are close to Him we can hear that voice for us. Sometimes He wants us to rest and heal from our wounds. Sometimes, He wants to lead us to pastures new for new feeding.
Yes, my friends stay close to YOUR shepherd.
“I shall not want”. I personally have had riches and lost riches. The Lord gave a scripture many years ago:
“Joel 2v25 “ I will restore to you all the years the locusts have eaten”.
I believed it would be in material things. I have come to realise the riches in Christ are love, joy, peace, hope, faith, wisdom, power and strength and many more.
They are all free and plenty of them in Gods store house for you and me. We shall not want. He will provide.
Isaiah 55 v 1 “ COME to the waters, drink, eat and be full without money” It’s all free just surrender and receive the blessings.
Many are struggling , hurting scared and lost at this time. Let’s be shepherds where we can. Let’s stay close to the flock and close to OUR shepherd where we will hear His voice.
“I am yours and you are mine”.
Thank you God bless. Heather
