My friend Deb had a picture recently when praying of an orchard with lots of ripe fruit on the trees. She then separately had a picture of an old fashioned juice press which presses the fruit.
I used to mistakenly think that the fruit of the Holy Spirit in my life was mainly for my benefit. I thought I was about becoming a better person for my own good. That was the goal.
I came to realise that the fruit of the Spirit of love, joy, peace, long suffering, faithfulness, kindness, goodness, self control is also for the benefit of others.
When we are obedient to God’s Word and follow the leading of the Spirit. When we discover the good works that God created each one of us for and prepared ready for us to do, then that is when the fruit is pressed in us. It is then poured out for the benefit of others.
This goodness of God in us brings goodness, refreshment and nourishment to others. Let us not let the fruit go to waste. Don’t let it spoil. It is fresh and there is more than enough. I believe the more we give out the more will be produced in us.
Let us abide in Christ and allow the Holy Spirit to produce the fruit in us and then let it be pressed by being obedient to Gods word and His will.
Blessings to you in Jesus name. 🙏
“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.
