By Invitation Only

My dear children – you are all children in my sight, dear and beloved to me.

How my heart aches for you. How my heart longs to take you in my arms and remove the burdens you are carrying.

I am here – just waiting for you.

Waiting to lift you up in my arms and carry you through the night.

Do you hear me calling to you?  Do you hear my still small voice crying out to you?

Do not try and block out my voice.   Do not fill your hearts and lives with worldly things which would stifle my still small voice.

Make room in your hearts for me.   Make room.

Some of you need to clean out the house, to make room so that I can come in and sup with you and talk to you and make you mine.

Some of you have squeezed me into the smallest room of your heart and tried to close the door and keep me in that small space. You will not allow me to have access to the parts which I need to access – the parts which need healing, cleansing and release.

Some of you have opened up a parlour, the best room, where I am invited to sit.

Where everything to outward appearances is swept clean and tidy – all rubbish hidden out of view – a room where a fire burns and which seems welcoming and inviting and where everything appears to be alright – but you are not comfortable with me.

You are not comfortable in my presence and you do not know how to be comfortable with me.

You are not really comfortable with my presence because you are fearful that I will want to go into the other rooms and all the other rooms are barred to me.

You are ashamed of them.

You feel that they are not good enough for me.

You feel that I would not want to really see inside those rooms – rooms which are dirty, unclean, cluttered, and full of things which you are ashamed of –

those are the very rooms I need to go into with you and help you clean. Help you bring warmth and light into those rooms.

Those areas of your life which you are ashamed of – those areas of your life which you try and keep me out of and pretend do not exist.

I am not fooled.

I want to come into all areas. I want to be able to access all areas of your life and your hearts.

Do not be afraid my children. Do not be afraid.

If you will open the door then I will come in and we will eat together. We will talk together, we will commune together. I made you, created you, I know you better than you know yourselves.   I will not be shocked or outraged by anything in your life or in your heart. If you are willing to submit to me completely then I will come in and do a work in you. I will restore you and refresh you.

Some of you ran well once. Who interrupted your race? Who hardened your heart against me? Who deafened your ears and muffled my voice? Who stole away your desire to be with me and the intimacy that we once enjoyed? Who stole your first love?

I am the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. I sit at the right hand of my father in heaven. I am not a thief or a trespasser. I do not enter in where I am not invited.

Do not keep me out of my rightful place in your heart and in your life. I want to take up my rightful place in your heart and in your life.   Let me take up my rightful place.

Come to me and submit yourself to me. Open the door and let me into my rightful place.   Open the door and let me into the closed places.

I am King and Lord of all and there is no other but me. Let me come in.     Do not leave it any longer.   The time has come to let me be King and Lord in my rightful place.

For the time will come when I will no longer be stood here knocking.

Let me in to that locked and darkened room in your heart so that I may bring my light and my healing touch.

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

Revelation 3:19-20

A plea for Deliverance and Forgiveness

To You, O Lord, I lift up my soul.

O my God, I trust in You;

Let me not be ashamed;

Let not my enemies triumph over me. Indeed, let no one who waits on You be ashamed;

Let those be ashamed who deal treacherously without cause.

Show me Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths.

Lead me in Your truth and teach me,

For You are the God of my salvation;

On You I wait all the day.

Remember, O Lord, Your tender mercies and Your lovingkindnesses, For they are from of old.

Do not remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions;

According to Your mercy remember me, For Your goodness’ sake, O Lord.

Turn Yourself to me, and have mercy on me, For I am desolate and afflicted.

The troubles of my heart have enlarged; Bring me out of my distresses!

Look on my affliction and my pain, And forgive all my sins.

Consider my enemies, for they are many; And they hate me with cruel hatred.

Keep my soul, and deliver me;

Let me not be ashamed, for I put my trust in You.

Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, For I wait for You.

Redeem Israel, O God, Out of all their troubles!

Psalm 25:1-7,16-22

The Lord God answered this prayer for deliverance and forgiveness on Good Friday when Jesus, the lamb of God, delivered us from Satan’s grasp and brought us into God’s Kingdom through His blood shed for us. Jesus redeemed us from the judgment and penalty of sin. We are redeemed, sanctified, forgiven and restored into new life in Christ Jesus our Lord. May this be your prayer today. Find Deliverance, Mercy and Forgiveness for your sins in Jesus. Thanks and Praise be to our God. Amen

God is working in the darkness

Morning, I will resume my series on Joseph tomorrow but today for #ThursdayThrowback, I wanted to re-post this one from March 2021 as an encouragement to those who may like Joseph find themselves in a dark place at the moment.

We don’t often as Christians talk much about darkness and the night time but recently I’ve been thinking about darkness in a new light 😊 (excuse the pun but I couldn’t resist it)

When I was a child I was, probably like most children, frightened of the dark and the night time. I used to let my imagination run wild about things that were living in that dark time of night. I would hide myself under my bed clothes and make myself invisible. I was hidden, so in my childish thinking, if I couldn’t see anything then nothing could see me.

The bible encourages us to put away childish thinking and so I’ve been trying to understand darkness/night time from God’s viewpoint and think differently about it. It started with a prayer vigil that we held recently from midnight until 3 a.m. In preparing for that I discovered that the bible teaches us a lot about darkness and especially the midnight hour.

First off, I am reminded from Genesis Chapter 1 that God created the day and the night. If God created it then it is His and just as the sun, moon and stars belong to Him then so does the night – it belongs to God.

The darkness and the night belong to God and not the enemy.

It seems to me that the enemy has exploited our fear and twisted our thinking about the hours of dark and the night time. I have heard it called the “witching hour” and the enemy has used this time to his advantage and for his wicked purposes for far too long but he doesn’t have control of the night. God does. It belongs to God and as children of God and children of the light it can belong to us as our inheritance in Christ.

I believe it’s time for us as believers in Christ to rise up and to reclaim the darkness and the night times.

Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.”
Isaiah 60:1-3

The bible teaches us that God does great and miraculous things in the night and especially in the midnight hour. God is working in those hours of darkness on our behalf and bringing freedom and deliverance to His people in the night time. He answers prayers in the night. He brings us dreams and revelation in the night.

Here are just a few examples of the amazing and miraculous things which I am reminded of which God has done in the night:

1. At midnight the angel of the Lord went through Egypt and God led the Israelites out of hundreds of years of captivity into freedom just after the midnight hour;

2. God sent an angel to free Paul and Silas from the prison at midnight. Salvation then came to the jailor and his family;

3. God also sent an angel at night to free Peter from the prison as guards slept and whilst the believers were gathered to pray for him;

3. God made His covenant with Abraham at night;

4. God showed Jacob in a dream the angels ascending and descending to the earth from heaven and also wrestled with Jacob in the night;

5. God gave Daniel revelation in dreams;

6. God gave Pharaoh a dream which enabled Joseph to prepare for a famine.

These are just a few amazing stories of God working at night to bring freedom and salvation to His people.

I am also reminded of the greatest story ever told.

When Jesus was dying on the cross as part of God’s amazing plan for our salvation and redemption, God caused there to be darkness over the land for 3 hours from noon until 3 in the afternoon. Jesus then died.

Jesus’ body was placed in the tomb, in a place of darkness, but a miracle was taking place during that time and on the third day His glorious resurrection took place.

Jesus the true Light of the world was then revealed and He had triumphed over death and hell and Satan.

Day always follows the night and light always breaks into the darkness.

Miracles can still take place in the darkest of times. God can be working for you and answering your prayer in this place of darkness that you may find yourself in right now.

Please do not give up hope. He is working on your behalf. He is working in our darkness.

Blessings to you all this day and night in Jesus precious name.

A love letter from God

For God is love.

Every bit of God’s love is in creation. His footprint of love is in creation. Jesus was the living Word and where He walked…..love, where He lived….love, the air He breathed…love, the ground on which He spilt His blood…love. A loving touch by a loving Son felt in the fabric of Creation.

God’s touch of love was in Creation. His loving breath into Adam’s lungs. The gift of life given by a loving Father by His very breath. The breath of love. His hands of love. His imprint of love is in the very fabric of Creation.

This beautiful earth which was created for us is a love letter from our Creator God. He created us and gave us the gift of life to enjoy the beauty of His creation.

A loving Father, a loving son Jesus, a gentle & loving Spirit, Holy Spirit; the dove that hovers, wings outstretched over all Creation.

The Lord has written His love into the very foundations of the earth. All that He is, all that He has, it was His very best which was poured out as a love offering for us before the throne of Grace. A love so pure, so strong, so amazing that none could be found that could possess such love but God himself. God who gave of Himself for all of us. To give us life.

How amazing to be loved like that. A love that will sacrifice itself for someone else. What love is this? The love letter from God poured out in the blood that flowed from its Creator’s side, received into the earth itself. Poured out as an offering before God’s throne. What love is this that could be so pure; so amazing; so freely and abundantly given. Nothing held back but all done for His good pleasure and to redeem His children and show us that He loves us.

Blessed be the name of the Most High God. Blessed be His name forever and ever. Amen.
