When your heart is not in it..

“And he did what was right in the sight of the Lord, but not with a loyal heart.”
2Chronicles 25.2

Just like the story of this King who served God, we can be outwardly obedient to God and doing the right thing but if our whole heart is not in it then we can stumble and fall.

Something will eventually be our undoing and lead us away from the Lord.

Our hearts will eventually lead us into compromise.

The bible warns us of the dangers of not following the Lord completely and with our whole hearts. The first commandment and our first work of service is:

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.”
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭6‬:‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Jesus said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭22‬:‭37‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The Lord says to the Church,

“Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works..
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭2‬:‭4-5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Lord help us to examine our hearts and show us where our hearts are not totally yours, bring us back to our first service and restore us to our first love. Show us where we have compromised our first love. Forgive us our sins and may our hearts be totally yours. Amen 🙏
