The Lord is good..

The Lord is good; His goodness endures forever,

For out of dust, He made us,

For out of death, He rescued us,

For out of sickness, He healed us,

For out of misery, He gave us His joy,

For out of distress, He gave us His peace.

For what is it that the Lord has withheld from us?

Nothing..He gave us His all;

The most precious gift of all;

He gave us His son;

He gave us His only son;

The darling of heaven..His only son;

He withheld nothing good from us;

He gave it all.

Yet, we do not consider it enough,

We try to add to the gift of grace,

We try to add to the son of God,

Our own efforts,

Stealing and taking His glory for ourselves,

Adding to His gospel in our pride, our conceit;

As if we could save ourselves.

When will enough be enough?

What can the world truly give us,

He has given us all.

Nothing has been withheld from us for eternal life.

It can start today..for today is the day of salvation.

Lift the trumpets high, sound the trumpets;

Put the trumpets to our lips,

Declare a famine in the land, a famine for worldly things,

Let hunger rise up for the Lord God,

Stir up a famine for worldly things which do not satisfy,

Release a spiritual hunger in the people,

Let the hunger for worldly things die away,

Let the people realise there is no life in those things,

No life at all,

No comfort,

No peace,

Nothing that can bring the true life that Jesus brings.

Has God withheld anything good from us?

No, He has given us all that is necessary for the true fulness of life.

Choose today life not death.

Choose life.
