Humility-prayer for the week ahead 11/3/24

“But at the end of that period, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven and my reason returned to me, and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever;

For His dominion is an everlasting dominion, And His kingdom endures from generation to generation. All the inhabitants of the earth are of no account, But He does according to His will among the army of heaven And among the inhabitants of earth; And no one can fend off His hand or say to Him, ‘What have You done?’

Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise, exalt, and honor the King of heaven, for all His works are true and His ways just; and He is able to humble those who walk in pride.” Daniel 4:34,35,37

Our Father in heaven, you removed King Nebuchadnezzar from his position when he failed to acknowledge you and boasted in his pride of his Kingdom and power.

May we learn to walk humbly before you and acknowledge that you are Sovereign God who rules and reigns over all the earth. True authority, power and judgment are in your hands.

Have mercy on us this day and lead us in your perfect paths.

We trust in your divine wisdom and acknowledge you as the one true God of all things in earth, on earth and under the earth and in the heavens above.

Lord do not let us fall into the trap of boasting in our own strength, power or wisdom but let us always acknowledge you, the giver of all things.

Remind those Lord who rule temporarily on this earth that they are always subject to you and you can raise up others and replace them and take their kingdoms from them as your Sovereign Will decides.

Your arm is not too short to save Lord. Amen 🙏
