My right…

We know a lot about our human rights these days. The rule of law to protect our rights..it’s part of our culture. You can’t infringe my rights. I have rights.

Human Rights.

My rights give me protection.

My rights give me privileges.

My rights give me power.

My rights give me a place.

My rights give me position.

My rights give me promotion.

Many overlook though the greatest, most precious right of all….the right to be a child of God.

A God given Right…not a Human Right.

That right to become a child of God is only given by Jesus the son of God. It comes through accepting and believing in Jesus Christ. Receiving Jesus as Lord and Saviour. We then truly have the right to call God our Father as adopted spiritual children of the Most High God.

We are born again into the Kingdom of God by God’s Will.

Now as children of God, we enjoy the Father’s loving protection, the privileges of His Kingdom, the power of the Holy Spirit working in and through us, the confidence of knowing that Jesus has prepared a place just for us, we are seated in position with Jesus in the heavenly realm and one day we will be promoted to heavenly glory.

Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God – children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.” John 1 12-13.

Now that’s a right to be excited about and shout from the rooftops…

I am a child of God….are you?

Many in the Christian community see the right to be called a son/daughter of God not as a gift given by the Son of God but rather an entitlement owed to them. I had a dream several years ago where I saw a long line of people who were awaiting admission into heaven. However, instead of being admitted, they were, one by one being cast into hell by angels. I noticed that each individual in the line had a piece of paper, a ticket of sorts if you will. I then was shown what was on the ticket which was the following words:

    “I prayed the prayer”

That was their, “entitlement” , to enter heaven.
